It's back to school time for our kids. *Hallelujah chorus plays* The first few days are filled with learning new routines and rules. While I try to encourage the children to have good attitudes about the school year and teachers, I had a bit of a hard time being positive about one of Ross's PE rules. He came home today to tell me about gym. This is the one that got me: They are not allowed to wear shorts with pockets to gym class because if the kids run, they might get one of their fingers caught in the pockets, dislocating or breaking a bone. *Crickets chirping*
I've been alive for thirty-three years. I've never met anyone who has had a pocket mishap in gym class, resulting in a maimed digit. I've never even heard of that. Perhaps instead of gym clothes, the kids should just wear bubble wrap.
